Schaefer & Strohminger is the Baltimore metropolitan area's oldest automotive organization. It was founded in 1917 by brothers-in-law Michael Schaefer and Henry Strohminger at Fleet and Eaton Streets in Highlandtown.
Still family-owned, the company today is headed by Chairman Louis M. Schaefer and President David Strohminger and it sells eleven vehicle lines from nine locations.
The company's lines are Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, GMC, Honda, Hyundai, Jeep, Mazda, Pontiac and Toyota. Schaefer & Strohminger has one dealership in Baltimore City, four in Baltimore County, three in Harford County and one in Cambridge, Maryland.
